Have you ever danced with Satan? In 2003 I went with a group of students to Holland for a school exchange. There were some other EU countries taking part in the same exchange-France, Italy, Czech Republic, Scotland and Finland so at the same time we had one international group staying there. One afternoon, as part of the schedule, there was an international school disco where all the excited kids gathered to have fun. The first thing that struck me was the fact that the only type of music played there was techno. There was no dance music, no rock, pop, disco etc. So kids never danced in pairs. No boy asked no girl to dance. The music was actually very uneasy. Still kids were dancing eagerly. A short, bald DJ made sure the kids were having fun. Suddenly the DJ started to shout at the crowd of kids” What did you say to the DJ?” and they responded” Fuck you” . It went over like this for a few minutes with some techno in the background. I was the only person there who was shocked. But the next piece of ‘music’ broke me into pieces. Loud, squeaky, uneasy, aggressive sounds causing irritation and discomfort were followed by terrifying roaring words –‘Dance with Satan, hell”. I felt enormous pain in my soul. These school disco was glorifying Satan and the teenagers and teachers seemed absolutely unaware of it. I was so upset that I started talking to my Dutch colleague, another teacher like me about the evil taking place there but he ignored me and kept saying that it was only music. I was more than broken-hearted and I went to the staff room. There were some other teachers and again I was talking to them. I expressed my dissatisfaction with this aggression promoted in this school. They all looked at me as if I was from another planet. I am sure they must have seen an alien in me who was talking about things they had no idea about. I could see pity they took on me. I heard some cynical comments like” Oh, you are from this country (Poland) where crowds go to church on Sundays”. I did not stop. I named evil by its name and said that music does carry message. Even if this aggressive message reaches a few people (maybe those who experience a lot of frustration) the results may be disastrous. I gave them an example- a frustrated kid who had been listening to Satanistic music (which they promote) might come to school with a gun and kill people there. Here the principal of the school admitted that they actually had some problems with a few Satanists in the school who they found hard to handle with. A couple of moths later my school in Poland received an email where the Dutch colleagues were mourning about the death of a teacher in the neighboring school who was shot by a student.
When we remove God from homes, families, schools, jobs, hospitals, law, social life, parliament, media and above all from hearts let us not expect that the ‘heaven’ we built will be the real one. It will be a mirage.Actually it all will only be 'dacing' with Satan.
