Last year a friend of mine was going to have surgery for stones in his kidneys. It is interesting to know that that Christian man I met through the Internet on a Christian pen-pal site. He lives in America and I have never seen him in person. Still, God gave me that wonderful friend to support me in hard times I was going through at that time. One day I found out about the surgery and I was praying really ardently for a miracle. For a few days just before the surgery I had been asking God to remove these stones. I knew in faith that God was able to melt them so that was exactly what I was praying for. I soon realized such thing is absolutely impossible to happen on its own as it would be against all laws of physics . Still the light of faith made me strongly believe that for Jesus everything was possible. So I kept praying. A belief in a miracle was not enough. There was a belief in a miracle only Jesus could work. But at the very last moment a hesitation came upon me. How could God be listening to a prayer of such sinful creature as me. How I wish now that doubt had never appeared. A few days later I contacted my friend on MSN messenger. I asked him how it was. He told me of his and doctors’ great surprise. There was the surgery but only to find out there were no stones in the kidneys anymore. The doctors could find no reasonable explanation to that especially that they had scanned him only a few days earlier and there were big stones. And passing stones is very painful and so my friend would have certainly known about it. I was shocked and confused. So God had been listening to the sinner’s prayer but since the sinners faith was gone the entire healing did not take place. What I mean I am sure if I had not doubted they would have scanned him again and saved him the surgery .
I do not know it this story proves more Jesus great power or proves that our limited faith actually prevents many miracles to take place.
Lord, let me never doubt again in Your power!!!!!!
