"Padre Pio had many enemies as well as many friends. The alms which were donated to him were used to build a new hospital. One day, a stranger, visited the town and inquired about the crowds of people and the hospital on the hill. The cab driver explained to him about Padre Pio and how he helped so many people; how he had the wounds of Christ on his body; and how thousands of people were daily visitors who came hoping that Padre Pio would intercede with Our Lord for them. The visitor's reaction to the cab driver's explantion was to utter malicious words against Padre Pio, mock and curse him. He started laughing and said to the cab driver: "Within a few days we shall celebrate Father's Pio's burial, and then there will be an end to this matter." They continued driving until they reached a restaurant. The car stopped and the visitor got out, fell down and died instantly; he was about 30 years old. An eyewitness, who had seen and heard everything went immediately to Padre Pio to tell him what had happened. Padre Pio replied: "You need not tell me that; I know it. When that man swore at me and made a curse for my death, I was all in God. The curse could not do me any harm, it was deflected to the man himself. Thus they will celebrate his burial in a few days."

Blog EntryAtheists' Holiday.Jul 26, '07 8:24 AM
for everyone
Have you heard about this case? In Florida, an
atheist became incensed over the preparation of
Easter and Passover holidays. He decided to
contact his lawyer about the discrimination
inflicted on atheists by the constant celebrations
afforded to Christians and Jews with all their
holidays while atheists had no holiday to
 celebrate.

The case was brought before a wise judge. After
listening to the long passionate presentation by
the lawyer, the Judge banged his gavel and declared
"Case dismissed!"

The lawyer immediately stood and objected to the
ruling and said, "Your honor, how can you possibly
dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas,
Easter and many other observances. Jews have
Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah...yet my client
and all other atheists have no such holiday!"

The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply
said, "Obviously your client is too confused to
even know about, much less celebrate, his own
 atheists' holiday!"

The lawyer pompously said, "Your Honor, we are
unaware of any such holiday for atheists. Just
when might that holiday be, your Honor?"

The judge said, "Well it comes every year on
exactly the same date - April 1st! Since our
calendar sets April 1st as 'April Fools Day,'
consider that Psalm 14:1 and Psalm 53 state, 'The
fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, in
my opinion, if your client says there is no God,
then by scripture he is a fool, thus April 1st is
 his holiday!
