Here is a poem that Father Gavin Griffith, OFM shared with us. He first discovered it on a wall - a part of the graffiti collection that ornamented the sleeping quarters of an alcohol recovery centre for men on the streets.
May the heavenly Child always be at the centre of your heart, may he sustain it, enlighten it, inspire it, and transform it to his eternal love! This is the most ardent prayer I say for you in these days before the stable of Bethlehem. Oh, how dearly I hope the divine Infant will grant you this prayer. May Jesus continue to grant his graces (...) especially to you, giving you courage and resignation up to the last day of your pilgrimage.
Govern everything by Your wisdom, O Lord, so that my soul may always be serving You in the way You will and not as I choose. Let me die to myself so that I may serve You; let me live to You who are life itself.
'Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have You present so that I do not forget You. You know how easily I abandon You.
Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak and I need Your strength, that I may not fall so often.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my life and without You I am without fervor.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my light and without You I am in darkness.
Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your will.
Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear Your voice and follow You.
Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love You very much and alway be in Your company.
Stay with me, Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.
Stay with me, Lord, as poor as my soul is I want it to be a place of consolation for You, a nest of Love.
Stay with me, Jesus, for it is getting late and the day is coming to a close and life passes, death, judgment and eternity approaches. It is necessary to renew my strength, so that I will not stop along the way and for that, I need You. It is getting late and death approaches, I fear the darkness, the temptations, the dryness, the cross, the sorrows. O how I need You, my Jesus, in this night of exile!
Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in life with all its dangers, I need You.
Let me recognize You as Your disciples did at the breaking of the bread, so that the Eucharistic Communion be the Light which disperses the darkness, the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart.
Stay with me, Lord, because at the hour of my death, I want to remain united to You, if not by Communion, at least by grace and love.
Stay with me, Lord, for it is You alone I look for, Your Love, Your Grace, Your Will, Your Heart, Your Spirit, because I love You and ask no other reward but to love You more and more.
With a firm love, I will love You with all my heart while on earth and continue to love You perfectly during all eternity. '
I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was 18. I entrusted Him my entire life. A few months later as a university student I happened to be at some charismatic meeting where people were praying for baptism in Holy Spirit. I decided to open up for this prayer ,although I had no idea what it was at that time, and when they were praying over me with their hands laid on my head I sank in prayer too. What I soon felt trespassed my all senses, emotions and imagination. Suddenly I was all immersed in Vast Loving Presence, so pleasant, joyful, happy, warm , peaceful One that I felt absolutely and completely HAPPY.YES, ABSOLUTELY AND COMPLETELY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was like heaven!!! I could not contain all this happiness. Yes, it was the Living Holy Spirit- the Spirit of Love and Joy that I was 'drunk' with.
One can hardly compare it to anything because nothing compares to this LOVE I felt. Let me just tell you that my whole being was so thankful to God that I answered back with incredible amount of joy and prayer. I started praying in tongues too. This song of praise that flew from me ,totally without any or with very little effort on my side, was there in me day and night. Hard to explain but I would sleep at night and there my soul remained awake expressing gratefulness and love to the One who had loved me first. I just could not help praying or actually praising this only LOVE.
There came healing too. Times of past pains and sorrows kept returning to me as short flashes but only to SEE that all these times Jesus was there next to me.He had been with me all the times when I felt rejected and hurt. He was there by my side, compassionate and loving.
My journey with Living God started like this. It is not finished. All I have not been able to stop doing since that time is praising the Living, Loving God for all His free grace for me.

Come, Lord Jesus, cover me with your precious blood, and fill me with your Holy Spirit. I Love You, Lord Jesus. I Praise You, Lord Jesus. I Thank You, Lord Jesus. I shall follow you every day of my life. Amen.
Mary, my mother, Queen of Peace, St. Peregrine, the cancer saint, all you Angels and Saints, please help me. Amen.
Say this prayer faithfully, no matter what you feel, when you come to the point where you sincerely mean each word, with all your hear, something good spiritually will happen to you. You will experience Jesus, and HE will change your whole life in a very special way. You will see.
"Padre Pio had many enemies as well as many friends. The alms which were donated to him were used to build a new hospital. One day, a stranger, visited the town and inquired about the crowds of people and the hospital on the hill. The cab driver explained to him about Padre Pio and how he helped so many people; how he had the wounds of Christ on his body; and how thousands of people were daily visitors who came hoping that Padre Pio would intercede with Our Lord for them. The visitor's reaction to the cab driver's explantion was to utter malicious words against Padre Pio, mock and curse him. He started laughing and said to the cab driver: "Within a few days we shall celebrate Father's Pio's burial, and then there will be an end to this matter." They continued driving until they reached a restaurant. The car stopped and the visitor got out, fell down and died instantly; he was about 30 years old. An eyewitness, who had seen and heard everything went immediately to Padre Pio to tell him what had happened. Padre Pio replied: "You need not tell me that; I know it. When that man swore at me and made a curse for my death, I was all in God. The curse could not do me any harm, it was deflected to the man himself. Thus they will celebrate his burial in a few days."
Take, O Lord, and receive my entire liberty, my memory, my understanding and my whole will. All that I am and all that I possess You have given me: I surrender it all to You to be disposed of according to Your will. Give me only Your love and Your grace; with these I will be rich enough, and will desire nothing more.
May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you... May you be content knowing you are a child of God... Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom of tossing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
